This article is speculation. The author states that this assumption is based on a few discussions they’ve had with random people on Xitter.

I posted this here because I wanted to talk about it and I wanted to see what peoples reactions were. What I find interesting is that rather than discuss the piece, people seem more concerned with bashing substack. For what it’s worth I really doubt the Americans will invade.

It’s not like Trump’s desires are a secret or anything. He outright talks about Canada joining the US almost daily, and throws in some threats about Greenland too every so often too. It is just how Trump works - he assumes everything is his for the taking until someone more powerful than him says no. The prick can’t even hold tariffs for a few days before powerful CEO’s call him and tell him to knock it off.

But as pointed out in the link: It would be the last thing the Trump admin does. The US would quickly succumb to civil war as every member of NATO and Canada’s military partners swarm to defend it and the rebelling US states. The US, as it stands today, would effectively be destroyed.

Yes but it is the MAGAits who own the guns, in this civil war. Sure once NATO comes down on the US poop gets real but I am still concerned, we will see the next US civil war soon, hears hoping the buffalo party does not decide to welcome them here.

Everyone ownes guns instead US. Not just the right. The left has seen this coming for some time and have armed up. It will be a complete shit show if they start killing each other.

That being said, I believe Civil War is inevitable in the US. It’s about to boil over.

Prior to Trump taking office the first time I read the literature on a second US civil war, most of the literature said it is not if it is when and it was all published prior to Trump rolling down the escalator. I thought Luigi was going to be what actually started their next civil war but it looks me now that it will be Musk, however Luigi’s sentencing may also be a boiling point. I so want Luigi to be found innocent but I am not holding my breath!

There’s plenty of left/Left/Dem Muricans who own guns, just most of them aren’t the “have enough guns and ammo to equip half a battalion” type of gun owner.

They are also silent, they don’t feel the need to lay each gun out on their back deck and take a pic for xitter with their children in the middle of all the guns

If it happens, I’m pretty sure almost as many Americans as Canadians would be fighting FOR the Canadian side.

There’s a lot of Americans that would happily defect to Canada if their country decided on something so monumentally stupid.

However feasible or not any of this is, at this point we have to acknowledge that trump is dead serious about it. It seems unfathomable to a normal person, but he’s not normal and there can be no doubt he wants to do it. He’s a megalomaniac who wants absolute power, wants to be like Putin and invade other countries. And he has many eager enablers to come up with plans.

Do you think that the people in the army are going to execute his command if he orders an invasion of Canada?

You don’t think the vast majority are going to consciously object? We both have so many friends and family on both sides, i doubt they’d ever even leave their bases.

One soldier is one to many, but there will be many who do follow the orders. Likely more who would not.

While I agree this is absolutely what Trump would like to do, it seems pretty unlikely it would get to this point, and the tone of the article makes just makes the whole thing sound like fanatical propaganda.

I’m sure someone a lot smarter than Donald Trump thinks what is outlined here could work, but in reality:

A- this would quickly bankrupt the entire United States

B- it would never actually work since Canada is HUGE and has a strong sizable army

    And finally,

C- no one in the United States actually wants to take over Canada. It’s a stupid idea that only the most unhinged and uneducated psychopaths would ever actually support

Lastly, I would probably be more willing to take this article seriously if it provided any real evidence of this supposed “imminent threat” and were posted somewhere a little more trustworthy than Substack
