I did hardwire it to the modem and it’s been awesome once I figured out what I was doing lol thank you so much for all of your help! Someone else mentioned changing the DNS settings is important for privacy, would you recommend to edit the Netmask and Gateway as well (I’m just using the same ones the ISP gave me in DHCP) or is changing the DNS enough?
Would using something like a Glinet Beryl travel router increase privacy in this scenario if you just used WiFi repeater mode and only connected to that router or would your cable provided router still be able to decrypt all of your traffic due to being unable to change their DNS settings? To be honest I know very little about networking I just want to increase my privacy to the fullest extent possible
So you just have to buy an openWRT router and it would stop it automatically or is this something you would have to be knowledgeable about how it looks in a system log to block it? Also, do you have to have some sort of custom modem as well or just the router being openwrt is enough?
Europe for sure. USA? Better chance of the president smoking rock at the state of the union. Land of the fee and all that.
That worked out well for Florida that one time. But you’re missing what gets people nominated to the general primaries, boat loads of money. If you don’t have that, good luck getting anyone you want to win to run. Thoughts and prayers and wishing don’t fund a campaign, but money does.
How is voting for the lesser of two evils ever going to change that every year you will still get to vote between the “lesser” of two evils?
All of these bills they pass about spying on you (“PATRIOT” act, PRISM, etc) all have pretty astounding bipartisan support. I mean they can’t agree on anything except when it comes to spying on us or wiping out whole societies of people that don’t look like we want them to look. They all fucking incredibly come together and agree on that. Every time.
This is the number one reason I won’t ever pay for a netflix subscription (or others) again. Pay for 4K but you dont get 4K if you want to watch on your laptop or android streaming box that they don’t approve of. Like how much fucking greedier could you be? Fuck them I hope they all go the way of blockbuster soon.
This was why and the fact that when I try to view comment threads on the website it won’t show them I was able to remedy both problems with Red Reader though.
Not for Spectrum it isnt, unfortunately. You can use your own router but you have to use their modem
Not OP but the only problem with specifically Disney + is they have a TON of shorts that I never can find on any scraper/website
Is editing the DNS settings enough or do I need to edit the Netmask and Gateway that were provided by the ISP as well? Also in order for me to change the DNS settings I had to set up a static IP address, is this still a private setup?
