You wouldn’t break into someone’s house and smash the DVDs they legally bought over the years would you?
Reading a post on the LE forum it sounds like smallstep might be closer to what I need.
Is this only for public facing services then? I have little desire to expose my services except through tailscale or something like that.
Any recommended “quick start” guides for LetsEncrypt? I get hung up trying to actually understand the process but I should just nut up and get it done.
Ah, so it’s not [necessarily] a direct transfer between peers.
Croc has worked nicely for me when I had to transfer very large files. I’ll check out Korra next time if “async” means it will start transferring once the first file is hashed. That always annoyed me about Croc and I’d manually break my transfers into chunks because I didn’t want to wait 10min before even one file was transferred.
Thanks, I didn’t know that was a VLC setting. It’d be nice if there was some type of standard for language and audio tracks etc. so there’s less chance of error due to free typing the name of a track.
Yeah, I do have my jelly fin set up to select English tracks by default but I’ve still had issues with the wrong track being selected. Maybe this was due to poor labeling of the audio tracks but that’s still something that never happens with a regular streaming service so my family is more resistant to use the self-hosted programs.
A separate file or if the first few bytes of a file contained the metadata.
Not always, but occasionally I have issues with playing a video and the language not being my preferred (English). Either the video doesn’t have English audio or it’s not the default. Not a biggie but it can waste some time if there’s no talking for the first few min and my family isn’t used to navigating audio settings.
OpenMediaVault
Good OOTB customizations, works on Pi, and easy to extend with plugins (Docker/Portainer is pretty much all I needed).
Was using CinemaHD so far. Stremio looks nice but I’d prefer Jellyfin become the new go-to app for media so we’re not still flipping back and forth between apps.
I paid for 15 days of Real Debrid and other than running into a lot of non-English streams it’s been great. If I can get it convenient to download shows automatically (I’ve heard of ways to integrate with arr services) I might start cancelling services.
Was gonna say that’s a hybrid human-plant.
Harder to implement but I’d rather have a feature to mirror a post among different communities (if the specific community opts in to the feature).
Also the cable and I don’t think that mechanism would turn.
I tried to be honest about the sample images and got 50% right. I think the “drawings” are the hardest because some imperfections are intentional.
Or secondarily I’d say Mastodon. They have an account but never post anything there.
As a long-time user, not at all simple.
