Are you saying its like the identity server model like matrix uses? Isnt that kind of model horribly complicated?

As a devoted AntennaPod user, it works damn well.
not to mention digital books are more accessible to kids who don’t need them: kids who have easy access to lots of connected digital devices.
Make it run more efficiently. When users spike everything crashes for a like week
personal user sort method for post replies
eg: users I upvote more get higher placement in threads when I sort them this way. This would replicate ‘algorithms’ used on other sites.
this would work. It would make things like the 2009 banking crisis more of a crisis but maybe thats not a bad thing.
the other thing is downward pressure needs to be applied to the market: new units sold at below market value to people that don’t already own homes
cost to build should be in billions
I think about half the remaining distance is cheap to build - farmland, etc. 200 mil seems really low though, especially for the land and infrastructure needed near portland and everett.
Been posting on masto since lemmy.world keeps getting outages. New posts seem infrequent on the sorting algorithms. I’m sure once the hardware hiccups die down it will stabilize
I should add: 1b. Don’t include parking, include commercial rental space on the bottom floor - parking creates sprawl.
Housing authorities just need to lower housing prices. The model already exists there’s just a lot of money fighting it:
Build large 5-6 story buildings with dozens or hundreds of units in areas where prices are too high. These buildings should be mixed use on the first floor with no car parking.
Sell or rent them at well below market rates to people that currently do not own homes anywhere under the condition they only sell under those conditions as well
Watch the market prices fall.
There’s currently enough housing in most places there just needs to be a needle applying downward pressure.
If you’re moving around between servers it means that each server has to validate the users. The matrix solution was to add identity servers that tell the server you’re logging into who you are. I imagine something similar would be necessary to hop servers on nostr and bluesky. Its possible the connected servers share user identities but that has its own array of problems.
