I called Israel a genociding apartheid state and am still not banned. But that comment has neither up- nor downvotes, so I might have gotten a shadowban, dunno how I can check that and I also don’t really care.
If an article sources from reddit, there is a high chance you can toss it straight into the bin.
Gaming “journalism” is full of that trash. “Players are upset with change X from game Y” and then cites an angry reddit thread and quotes posts as if it was an interview. Actual bullshit content.
The problem with crossposting bots is that I rarely care for the OP as much as I care for the comments.
Objectively, Reddit will do well as it’s just a generational change. TikTok and Instagram got all and about zilch to offer if one is looking for factual statements or level-headed discussion of topics and they are doing phenomenally. Instant gratification is way more marketable and exploitable, so it’s best for Reddit to take the small loss in engagement from the technical crowd and be just another meme spewing zombie consumer pleaser.
The people who really suffer are the ones that were relying on the niche knowledge some subreddits provided or who were using them as a learning/studying aid. AKA the folks that left and the lurkers that relied upon them.
To be charged with war crimes, you basically have to surrender a war. The USA never surrenders when they are losing (Vietnam, Afghanistan/Iraq) and weasels their way out every time. Almost like it helps to have an unfathomable amount of money and influence on world economy, so nobody dares to hold you accountable for your wrongdoings.
