Yeah I agree. I think it’s pretty amazing that so many people are continuing to use Lemmy after the initial migration. I’d have been more surprised if there was no drop off, as you’re obviously going to get some people who’d try it and it’s not for them.

Lemmy.ml but same problems there. I haven’t had time/energy to make another one and subscribe to everything again.

Lemmy.world has been down a lot, I’ve been trying to use it but half the times I’ve logged on it’s been down. So that might be part of it?

Oh is that true? So when I search for an instance on the app I use (Connect) is the list of communities that appear only there because people have subscribed to them once? Or am I seeing everything but it won’t appear in everyone’s feed until I subscribe to it?

But you’ll still see all content from every federated instance in your feed? It doesn’t matter which one you’re signed up to.

I assume they’re talking about the reddit app.

Ahh well, the exciting thing is how quickly things are being built and changed so maybe our instances will become more connected eventually.

What do you mean by “no algorithm”? There must be something controlling the order of “hot” vs “new”? Or do you mean the kind of algorithm that shows you suggested communities?
