Great idea. Let’s make the USA a small homogeneous group and see what happens.
Every time I ask this question:
What lae do you propose, that didn’t already exist, wouldn’t violate the Bill of Rights, and wouldn’t cause a civil war?
Most of the time I either get answers that include laws that exist that the government doesn’t enforce, or a “fuck the constitution, let’s have a civil war!”
For example the army is supposed to report people discharged distribution to the NCIS. They don’t.
The ATF is supposed to follow up when a banned individual tries to buy a gun. They don’t.
The ATF is supposed to check on people when gun dealers report them for attempted straw purchases. They don’t.
Know someone who had illegal weapons? Call the police and see what they do. Here’s a hint: nothing
So, does anyone have one?
In addition to what others have mentioned if you’re using Home Assistant or an MQTT environment than using the ESPHome tools can make life much easier.
You can also install MicroPython, and with it’s new and improved “mip” (pip for micropython) you can easily find drivers for most things. Micropython doesn’t support “threads” on the esp8266 as such, but can use uasyncio, which achieves the same goal.
I wanted to build a duplex but “zoning laws” say that wasn’t allowed, only single family detached houses with at least X amount of land.
Most zoning laws are serious bullshit and work as defacto segregation to keep the dirty
brownpoor people away from the nice good rich folk. It’s why suburban school is a totally different things from poor urban school.Zoning laws are why developers in LA can’t afford to build anything other than luxury condos. Land is literally too expensive to build. As an example: a requirement to have at least X parking spots per X units, even when it’s built right next to a metro and a bus depot and you’re building low income housing for people who are less likely to own cars in the first place.
Too many NIBYs whining about things.
