What’s LW’s reason for staying on 18.5? Is it client compatibility? Not looking to grab pitchforks, genuinely curious.

I’ve been on Reddit alternatives for the last 5 years. Lemmy is long past the phase the others all failed at, and next time Reddit screws up it’ll grow even more.
The largest existential threat for Lemmy at the moment is perpetual funding. The two full-time devs are almost in the poverty line.

Genuine question, can screen readers not parse image text in 2024? I personally use some image text to text copy programs on Linux to help speed up my development workflow, so it seems good screen readers have already had this for years?
