SKAVEN RIDES BIG-HUGE CHICKEN BIRD-THING, YES-YES!
Wow, I didn’t realize making more commits and changes means something is better.
I mean, if something is working and it’s working decently well… does it need a nightly change or frequent updates? It not being updated as often as it normally does is not a bad sign imo.
I’m honestly quite fine with not owning any Ubisoft games, so me and this exec are on the same page of being happy not owning Ubisoft games it seems like
But I want to outrage at sensationalized headlines and tweets :( How can I do that if I actually read the articles?
That’s why if something “fails” to scan or you input some produce at a cheaper price “on accident”, then it’s the store’s fault - you’re not a cashier, just a customer doing self-checkout.
I mostly agree with this, but I also think there should be some way of being able to collate the same 5 communities on 5 different instances under 1 view. I said this when I first came onto the Fediverse, but maybe having a tagging system for each instance would allow for both; users could look up instances with, say, a “news” tag and get every instance with that tag - and this way, the communities would still be separate and can develop differently from one another.
If you stole a car, you physically took something away from somebody. If you download a car, the original is still there - you’re just making an exact copy for yourself for free. Same if you swiped a candy bar at a gas station - you’re depriving that gas station the use of their property, which is to sell and make money. If you download a candy bar, nothing is taken and the gas station can still sell the original.
So let’s be crystal clear here: what’s happening is not theft, because nothing was taken and the owner is not deprived of the use of their property. Can you argue that you’re getting something for free when you shouldn’t? Yes, and that’s more in line of denying profits rather than actual theft.
If we take you at your word, one lemmy.world admin didn’t disclose one meeting they had with Meta - and from the sounds of it, you don’t even know the nature of the meeting itself. It could very well be a long meeting where they expressed interest in federating with Threads, or it could be a very short meeting where they said “lmfao go fuck yourselves”.
That and you practically going on like “lemmy bros I don’t want you to blindly follow me but Imma make my own Fediverse instance but it’s ok you don’t need to join but just know Imma make an instance with blackjack and hookers it’s gonna be better than this just blindly trust me bro” in some of the posts here just further weakens your accusation.
That’s what had me confused at first when people were leaving Reddit but going “bRiNg ReDdIt CoNtEnT oVeR aNd DeLeTe ReDdIt!” and using the whole “we need content” as a reason.
Like, if y’all want content from social media platforms… use those social media platforms. In my mind’s eye, I see the Fediverse as more of an old-school forum where people can make any forum for specific communities, not as a content-vomiting platform.
Ok, I really don’t get this.
Why are y’all so focused on basically moving Reddit onto the Fediverse when you can just, y’know, either make new content that you want to see on the Fediverse… or just go back to using Reddit? Dunno about you guys, but I got away from Reddit because I don’t want the Fediverse to become Reddit 2.0 in terms of content and community - I was kind of hoping more for Fediverse communities and content, not Reddit communities and content on the Fediverse. If I wanted that, I’d go on Reddit.
I love how everybody was all “NEVER GIVE ANY INFO ONLINE” until corporations realized you could make bonkers money, then it very quickly shifted to “GIVE ALL YOUR INFO ONLINE”
