  • The better analogy is 50K people are in a room, 80% of them are mute and deaf (they don’t comment so you can’t talk to them);10% have the complete opposite opinion and you don’t want to communicate with them; and the other 10% share your interests, but they are busy communicating with the other people. So at the end of the day you have 2% of people to converse with.

2% of people finding your posts, upvoting, and interacting with you. Not much.

    Truth.

I try linux probably 2 times per year, every year, and at least hop between 5+ distros. Every time I run into issues, I ask the community, and I am completely shit on.

“Go back to microsoft you dumb fuck”. Like ok. Didn’t realize a distro completely nuking itself by me clicking update in the software manager was a me problem, but sure.

Every time you comment something like this, nice people come in and tell you how the Linux community is so accepting, followed by 30 comments telling you to kill yourself lmao.

  • Meanwhile my girlfriend just got back from travelling around Europe and all of those “superior” countries, and couldn’t wait to get home.

Said everyone was rude, taxis scammed her frequently, the public transit was pretty subpar with no other choice, the food was pretty mediocre, she had to be extra careful about pick pocketers, and lastly she said everyone stunk so bad from perfume that she had a constant headache.

Canada isn’t perfect, but it does have a ton going for it.

  • On a related note, go fill out your donor card people. Even if you’re one of those “nobody will want my organs” type of people, do it anyways. The transplant people will figure out if your organs are viable when you no longer need them anymore. Let them figure that shit out for you. Just check the box to be a donor and don’t think about it any further.

and the stupid rumour about “the doctors will kill me to save 8 others” is bullshit. I am glad my donor signed. His wife said she didn’t want him to, but seeing me live because of his selflessness made her reconsider, and she tells everyone to be a donor.

  • This vaccine was so incredibly safe that it’s ridiculous that she chose to die rather than getting it.

Unlike the transplant meds. Pretty large increase for cancer from them.

Seems weird to refuse a COVID vaccine, but be fine swallowing a ton of meds every 12 hours that increases your risk of cancer significantly.

Obviously me and many others accept that increased risk, because like you said, the other outcome is just dying straight up.

In the end I’m glad the organ went to someone else who will respect and appreciate it.
