I kind of get what they are coming from, but I don’t fully agree with their take of being more exposed to other views on the internet. At least not as a general rule.

There are loads of people who (understandably) will block any and all opposing views from their feeds, making the remaining stuff only things they agree with

no, because it would also filter out stuff like this post, that just discusses it, but the content being generally okay

because it can be used to automatically filter out content you want to see from content you don’t want to see

Crowdsourced blocklists don’t work. Never have, never will. It’s far too easy to manipulate.

Especially when people also add “guilty by association”. Follow a person that someone doesn’t like? Have fun on the blocklist and not having a chance to get off of there
