  • Can confirm. I’ve helped out on a farm that has 200 laying hens running around on 10+ acres, surrounded by a strong fence. Any mouse, frog, toad, mole, or cricket that they find is immediately ripped to shreds, unless by some miracle the little guys can make it through the chain link fence before the flock finishes them off. They’re constantly figuring out and then establishing a pecking order, and you know who’s on the bottom because they’re constantly chased away from food, prey, and water. No roosters involved, but hens are brutal on their own!
