It won’t be, at worst it will be passed around a bunch of marketing companies sending you a bunch of pointless junk mail. And that’s really only if you go to a shitty bank.

I just do that so the cat doesn’t stare awkwardly at me while I poo.
When he doesn’t try and take a look in the bowl during the action, at least.
I’d call that more if a soft limit as I doubt its definable that far in the future.
Two weeks is a suggestion, you can do more if you like. There’s no hard limit.
All I see is 192.168.0.2
For how much “value” it provides (shareholders) they seem very keen on squeezing even more out of it. Why should we make their job easier? They certainly don’t make their content creators jobs easier.
If you consider the basic concept, they’ve been a thing since we started grouping together as communities. There have always been people who power trip. The internet just made them less effectual.
That seems like a very… capitalistic approach to it. The idea that if someone could improve their situation more with those resources, then you can’t be allowed to use it. Zero-sum calculations aren’t healthy for anyone. Sometimes there’s going to be inefficiency in the system.
Holding resources in excess of what you need to live comfortably is one thing… but just having a home to yourself (and/or your family) is not a horrendous leech on society. Honestly that kind of rhetoric, where you’re forced out of your dwelling just in case someone might be able to use it to better themselves, is exactly the kind of thing that vocal critics of communism and socialism claim of it.
Better just give up, then. Obviously the only solution is violence because random people on the internet have decided there’s literally nothing at all that can be done to change things.
I think its the regulatory body’s responsibility to provide a safe and secure service that can verify age requirements if they want to force that.
If they can’t provide that service, they shouldn’t require it, especially with such sensitive information.
That’s the beauty of the fediverse, if the instance you’re on isn’t doing what you want, you can move to another one. Or create your own.
I’d say that’s a pretty clear indicator of the popularity of decisions. Saying “No, you can’t do that, cause I don’t want that” is putting your desires above the desires of others.
Then feel free to go to threads or somewhere that does federate with them. You don’t have to stay on a particular instance if they don’t federate with something you want to engage with.
That’s your freedom of choice.
So… admins aren’t free to choose? Why are you trying to take away admins freedom of choice? Sounds kind of authoritarian to me.
If you haven’t noticed them doing dirty or damaging things for the last twenty years, feel free to engage with them.
There’s more than enough evidence to show their intentions are far from pure.
We got a Clerks 3 and Jay and Silent Bob 2, so why not?
Hopefully it doesn’t tear Scott Mosier’s soul apart like the first one, though.
I just started rewatching the 10th Kingdom…
She got a lightsaber hand.
Fix your own side of the bed first, then you can start complaining.
Thats the problem with both sides, though, isn’t it? Its always the other sides fault. And “our” side shouldn’t need to fix anything until “your” side fixes their problem.
Its an easy way to sit on your ass and do nothing, because clearly the “other side” is worse.
I mean, for the discerning gentlemen scared of their own shadow knowing their general location, I’d say it’s right up their alley.
