(I do agree that their treatment of gays is wrong though) I agree that that’s what an online community shoul be about. Different folks discussing different opinions. Well, you’re making a fair point in some regards. I agree that the two state solution is forfait, but the general opinion is pretty pro-palestine on Lemmy. I respect your courage or ignorance in that regard. However, I think that any opinion is bullshit anyway. Hamas has done plenty to justify Israel’s reaction, but Israel’s reaction is completely off the shelf as well. I don’t think we, regular folks, in the west, can not trust media coverage in this regard to form an unbiased opinion, because media coverage is just another battlefield these days.

Yes okay, it is definitely less problematic than it was 40 years ago, but there are still fenced off communities and armored police cars. Things are pretty okay now, but Belfast is still a divided city and always will be. I’m not a native, but I visit regularly and I’ve never actually met anyone my age who cares about the divide, but I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t acknowledge the divide either.

Yeah I have. They’ve propted me a couple times to confirm that I am in the single family home. Just confirm it and that’s that. (We’ve made a shared email account for netflix specific). Maybe that’s not the full force of the crackdown?

It’s no too hard. You could do it over a weekend if you’re technically inclined like you say.

My tip: set it up on a clean pc (or nas or pi or whatever you’re gonna use), don’t use your old pc that still has all your files and stuff. I just booted up my old pc, that I hadn’t cleaned and got the whole arr suite and plex set up for my local network. It all works, but now that I want to open it up to the outside, I realize that have to first clean my pc. That pretty much means starting over.
