Fredericton Pride announced its decision to cancel the two-week festival through social media posts late Thursday night, citing “harassment board members have received.”
“In order to ensure our own safety, that of our performers, and our volunteers … Fredericton Pride has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2024 festival.”
I will also add a big FUCK YOU to all those who sent threats to the board and caused this cancellation. I hope they rot in hell for their selfish stupidity.

I work with organizations to help the homeless in our area, and many of them simply refuse help.
I’ve worked with unhoused people (and been unhoused myself). The only time I’ve known unhoused people reject help is that they often haven’t been offered the help they want instead of the help you want to give.
If you haven’t asked them what they want, just told them what you’ll provide, it isn’t helping them … it’s just making you feel better.

When Greyhound shut down and the feds did nothing, they missed a prime opportunity to help instead of hinder. It could have been used as a major election plank as well, ie: promise fulfilled.
