  • Lots of different things have been discovered.

Like, it was news when it was discovered we lived at the same time, it was news that we lived in the same place.

Now it’s news that we lived at the same place in the same time.

Later it’ll be news that we lived together with them not just next to each other.

That’s how science works. You prove something easy, then prove something a little harder as more evidence is discovered and research done.

We already “knew” it because we know interbreeding happened, but it’s not the same as finding evidence of them coexisting.

So you might also be remembering a hypothesis that is now being proven.

That’s why so much science sounds like it’s repetitive.

  • Yep, any far right authoritarian government does that shit.

Half the people the nazis killed in concentration camps werent even Jewish. They hated anyone that was “different” by any number of metrics.

Just like Israel’s far right government doesn’t just hate Muslims from Palestine, they hate Christians or any other religion just as much.

Muslims are just the group the least amount of powerful people care about, like how the Jewish people were in that position 80 years ago.

They always start with the population that has the least defense, but they’ll expand their targets as soon as they think they can.

Like old school KKK in America, they hated a lot more than just Black people in their hey day, but as they lost power they stopped going after the other groups and now focus on the ones with the least defenses/support.

It’s important for people to know this shit, because history shows us people keep falling for it.

  • Not to mention pretty much every Palestinian in Gaza is ethnically Semitic…

Meanwhile Israel doesn’t even report the ethnicity of Israelis. They just label them “Jew” or “Arab” (the use Arab for any religion other than Judaism) and pretend someone that converted yesterday is now Semitic today and entitled to live in Israel. Literally, if you convert you can get Israeli citizenship and you’ll have your ethnicity listed as “Jew” on Israeli documents.

Unless you were born in Gaza or West Bank. In that case even if you convert and marry a Jewish Israeli citizen, you still don’t become an Israeli citizen.

Because their government doesn’t want to acknowledge that religion isnt the same as ethnicity. If they did, they’d lose the entire excuse about it being their land ancestrally.

Theyre not starting from a logical position, so nothing else about it is ever gonna make sense.

Like most far right authoritarian governments, they say whatever helps in the moment and don’t care if there’s any logical consistency.

Yeah, OP was going off on a wild tangent about LSD in a sub about shit talking Teslas…

And the mod explicitly said “this has nothing to do with this sub” and OP kept insulting the mod and asked to be banned.

The mod finally deleted a single comment from OP, and OP is really really upset about it.

I honestly don’t know why the mod didn’t just ban OP, he was literally asking for it

  • Other countries can’t defend Palestinians because the US and other countries would also join Israel’s side.

If the other countries grow a backbone and stay out of it, Israel will nuke the entire Middle East the second it looks like they’re losing.

But ignoring these facts doesn’t help anyone, and is a risky gamble that Israels government gets a sane leader, and not someone even crazier than Netanyahu next.

With far right religious extremists running a nuclear armed country with a belief that God wants them to rule the surrounding area… The nukes come out eventually if they’re in power long enough.

  • No! No I didn’t!

I never get that thing you sent me! I’ve never gotten that thing you sent me, and I’m beginning to wonder if you ever once sent me anything!

While I’m at it, if I HAD gotten that thing you sent me—EVER!—I doubt I’d be interested in what it said.

For well over a decade I’ve been hoping someone would respond with that when I ask if they got that thing.

I’ve said “just cram a penny in there” almost as often and I’m starting to think I need to find an Alvish electrician to get the right answer.

  • Because there’s never a negative consequence…

If the process even starts, cops nationwide stop doing their job completely.

Imagine if charging a fireman for arson meant firemen stopped responding to calls.

Or if a single malpractice suit stopped doctors from treating patients.

Cops are essentially a gang, they’ve been acting like it for decades now. The only time a cop will admit another cop did something wrong, is if that first cop was a whistleblower. Anything except speaking out against cops and they all close ranks to protect the “bad apple”.

  • Biden was telling them to chill out, because he was worried it would lead to less aid for Israel…

He wasn’t trying to call for peace, he was asking for less obvious war crimes.

Without quoting any of his specific comments, Troy says that Biden warned Begin that “eroding support for Israel” might endanger future US aid. Begin seems to have taken this as a threat to cut off aid if Israeli policy didn’t change, and Troy quotes him railing that Israel would “stand by” its “principles . . . with or without your aid.”

Honestly, though, everything we know about the way Senator Biden positioned himself on the issue at the time makes it more likely that he was speaking as a supporter of US aid worried that he and his friends wouldn’t be able to deliver it in the future. But what exactly was his concern?

Now that it’s 40 some years later and he’s a party leader and president (also, 40 fucking years older) I guess he’s not as worried about how Israel’s war crimes might result in less aid to Israel.
