Interesting. I might need to check on that. I have discussed with framatube in the past about discoverability. Also, the kodi app had been outdated for a while. I think they’re struggling with popularity. Youtube is still the monopoly and peertube probably doesnt have that much money to throw at competing. Also the p2p stuff sparked some privacy concerns. I‘ll have a look at my peertube instance later and check whats new.

This totally makes sense. You as a user cant just block whole instances in most cases and it is great that there are instances that view it like you do.

It would be an actual argument to buy their proprietary, anti consumer hardware. Smartphones dont change much anymore. They’re pushing these finnicky folding displays at samsung but otherwise its the same brick, just more power, more energy consumption and more bigger cameras. There is barely any innovation compared to the first couple of years. Not to speak of the unrepairable, buy for the landfill airpods.

The solution will probably be reputation/timelimit based or maybe federating ip bans. Bans already federate I think. At least my instance has a ton of names on the banlist although I havent banned as many people.
