Ce să vă zic, mă, bine ați venit? bine ați venit, rău ați nimerit. La locu’ ăsta îi zice șerpărie, de la șerpii care umblă pe-aicea. Dracu’ știe cum au ajuns…
@k110111 The Fediverse is more than just Mastodon. Don’t be shy of trying out other social networks as well, as they have a pretty good compatibility with Mastodon.
I just wanted to get rid of Facebook. So, I don’t know what did I think about, but I chose Friendica. From here I managed to follow many of the pages that I was following there, over on Mastodon.
News pages have the biggest share in the accounts that I follow, but I also found other accounts, such as @godpod or @DarthPutinKGB
@0x815 Russia is not on the way of the non-existent migrant routes like Romania is (sic). The only thing migrating to Raiffeisen and to Nehammer and his government is those sweet sweet Russian money that are useful enough to stop the expansion of the Schengen Area and endanger the European project.
@0x815 This aspect will be a crucial factor in companies choosing to stay in Russia or leave it, even despite sanctions. They will have to balance the peer and society pressure in the West for big tech companies to be more inclusive to discriminated minorities to Russia’s clampdown on such minorities. Many bigger companies could target their content differently, like are doing in countries like in Saudi Arabia. Others may not - either because they don’t want, or they do not have the resources to do it.
As a side note, if Roskomnadzor ever comes to Beehaw, just tell them a friendly Romanian wishes them a warm FUCK YOU! and that the return of Romanian gold is due.
@Marsupial at least they won’t be that widespread for the time being.
@throws_lemy guess it’s pretty bold from them to test this despite labor shortages. Good move!
@0x815 Guess that Nehammer’s opposition to Schengen accession for Romania and Bulgaria is starting to pay off /s
@lemmyvore thanks for the reply and the great summary. Indeed, I just pasted the original title (albeit translated), and Club Feroviar sometimes has clickbaity titles (although the informations are pretty much accurate).
I think it will be covered eventually one way or another, the main worry is that it might invalidate the current bid process and have to be repeated all over again.
This is the greatest risk indeed. It’s not too uncommon to have bids canceled in Romania due to this, or because of various contestations from the bidders. Then all the politicians turn a blind eye to the specific project for a few more years. This way, money and time simply gets lost, and we’re left only with waiting for another bid to come up and hopefully be successful. And then the cycle repeats itself if it’s not.
One famous case is for the direct railway between Bucharest and the southern border town of Giurgiu, 60 km in length, which will reopen this year, almost 20 years after it was shut down due to a bridge collapse.
@throws_lemy All far-righters on suicide watch
@Obi /c/s is not long (albeit a bit complicated to write, on phone at least) and it could easily be expanded verbally, so you know that /c/s = communities
.
On Friendica, everything that is not a person or a page is displayed as a group. As a Facebook alternative, it does make sense, but for you in the Lemmy world I imagine it would sound a bit bland. 😁
@QuentinCallaghan natural selection took its toll, sadly.
@rclkrtrzckr I think it’s a good thing that people are looking for alternatives. I’m sad that most of them do it just because Twitter is bad, unaware they reached a decentralized alternative and unaware of what does it mean to them. I hope some of them will try also some other decentralized alternatives as they see fit.
@crazyCat I think they’re still training on them.
