This would be a terrible choice. For me it’s enough that some instances are down from time to time.

They both use fediverse. So it is theoretically possible to view one’s content from another. However, it ends up being a UX nightmare.

I get your point. I see the way of posting is quite different. mastodon has simpler posts.

So if there was a feature to interact via one app with both platforms, it would make more sense to approach this from the lemmy perspective

I honestly hope lemmy will not die. It will have to become simpler though. For many people, it will be simply way too complicated to wrap their head around the fact of many instances and most of them will worry about not being able to interact with people from other instances.

Also, the main lemmy web app is not necessarily good and alternatives such as wefwef are far easier to use.

I myself am interested what lemmy.world’s admins will do. Now they get a lot of criticism for not doing anything but so far I wouldn’t blame them that much.
