“Go-GO Gadget shiv!”
Not really in this case. It’s for the free one-time scan, I wasn’t signing up for the service.
I like the idea of this sort of thing, but it always ultimately comes down to placing some kind of trust in the data brokers. This seems foolish to me because they clearly have no interest whatsoever in complying with this sort of thing unless they are forced to.
Hell, if I were a proper scumbag I’d make harvesting the information of people who requested it taken down my business. Exclusive demographic, low cost business model ;-)
Hopefully Mozella have thought of this and mix a bunch of trash data with their searches and requests… or some other scheme to minimize the impact of “bad actors” in the data harvesting industry.
I probably should but I don’t. Firefox is strongly associated with my nostalgia for a time when few things required one.
Site feels deceptive.

So… and this is probably debatable, the point of a dedicated seed box is that there are a metric-shitton of other seed boxes on the local network (at the datacenter).
I’d argue the point of self hosting is to be able to set it up however you please. It sounds like you know what to do to be safe.
I use Mulvad for general VPN duty, though I can’t personally speak to its torrent support/speed I do see many recommend it in combination with a wireguard supporting container image. Spin a few up and let us know which ones you like and why.
Really enjoying your axolotl period.

Got frustrated and gave up after a few trys posting a link, not sure where it’s getting mangled.

Hopefully that works :-)
Very well. The back wall might have a bit to much separation for phone sized screens, but it’s well done.

Huh… 🤔
The fuck? It just doesn’t like imgbb.com for some reason… sorry random stranger, I yield to the fediverse’s cruel machinations.
Wait, the main domain is cool but the hosting domain…

Yup…
Thank you 😊 This is going up next to Mardock in my pill closet!
My ADHD ware wolf ate your ambien walrus for breakfast ;-)
You’ve done it now… my brain has concluded that one would need to be both angry and aroused to win that fight. And now it just won’t go away 😢
Eldridge lemon gets to live in my head rent-free all day. Thanks :-) Now quit making fun of OP’s penis fingers.
Yes. Also yes.
I remember when Tom’s hardware was one German dentist and washing machines were to primitive to pick up a phone… you’d think they’d have done something cool by now like make them fold our clothes for us. The future is lame.
For now, it looks like the favored answer to the data mystery is to blame Asus for misreporting it. We may never know what happened with Johnie, who is now running his LG washing machine offline.
Another relatively innocent reason for the supposed high volume of uploads could be an error in the Asus router firmware. In a follow-up post a day after his initial Tweet, Johnie noted “inaccuracy in the ASUS router tool.” Other LG smart washing machine users showed device data use from their apps. It turns out that these appliances more typically use less than 1MB per day.
Is their completely automatic online store still closed on Sundays?
I think the car was blue… otherwise you nailed it ;-)
