Qtile has among the best Wayland support out there. It is kinda difficult to install the Wayland version, however.
Any reason why Xorg and not Wayland?
I’ve recently reached the point where I could barely afford some of them… if they were as good as they were a year ago. Seems I’m sticking to the Seven Seas and my downloaded music library.
I’ll be the harbringer of good news then! The XMonad team is looking to hire a Haskell Dev to rewrite XMonad for Wayland!!! (They might not have enough in terms of resources and it’s not like anyone has come forward, but it is still something)
What logout app do you use? I was thinking of writing one but never got around to it.
This sounds a lot like newm, I’d suggest you check it out! (though I think it might be unmaintained now)
Wait, so ChromeOS decided to replicate Windows Terminal? This is just so confusing.
Man, this wallpaper brings me back, like 10 years ago!
I wish Awesome had a Wayland version. It will make me sad to see this wonderful project die a slow, but certain death. I hope someone takes the mantle and burden of porting the libraries to Wayland as a compositor.
Your script is <100 lines, and I’m sure neofetch is far larger and slower
That’s a very nice green theme you have there. Reminds me of the desire I once had to try a green theme, after sticking to a blue palette since forever. It might be time to give it another shot
Fair enough. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. And I’m sure your script is faster because it doesn’t deal with nearly as many of the useless complexities of neofetch.
Good bot
Wait. Is there a bot rankings bot on Lemmy?
I have to say: while it is a fun project (I used to maintain my own fetch too), what most people don’t realise is that neofetch is quite customisable to the point that I replaced my custom fetch with neofetch. If you’re doing it to learn, great! Keep going! If you’re doing it for functional purposes only, I’d recommend just customising neofetch and keeping a neofetch config around i your dotfiles or something. Still really cool though. Also, what are you using as a shell prompt: PS1, Starship or something else?
bro, go outside
haha
This theme is pretty gorgeous, I like it, and I usually don’t even like red as a colour for desktop themes.
Yeah. I found it quite painful, having to go through and find all I needed. The hardest part for me was underlines. I wanted my focused workspace to be underlined. It was very difficult tp figure out and the solution is ultimately a hack, but it works.
After 2 days of hard work understanding the API reference
Everyone that’s ever used AwesomeWM felt that. I felt that too.
Key word “sometimes”
This gives me strong CTT vibes… the nord fheming and the shell prompt… just chefs kiss
Edit: I also love the powerline theming. It’s like Erik Dubois’ AwesomeWM config on Arco. Can we have the dots? It’s definitely something I’d love to try.
