I’m glad this council seems to be taking the potential issues of building more units more seriously than the common excuses of reducing existing homeowner landvalue. While there are still some potential issues, such as the developer lobby successfully removing inclusionary zoning, I am happy to see talk about upzoning and density. I beleive both upzoning and density could have positive effects for the urban fabric of most cities. In my experience, many single family homes get bought up and turned to multi units anyway, it would be a lot nicer to just start by building multi units.
