Yeah it did, they just weren’t upfront with you about it. They just billed you at a higher rate

Everyone is blaming Netflix, but it’s not their fault.
It’s the fault of the content owners. Disney, fox, paramount etc……
Rather than make a little money off of Netflix, they decided they could scam more money by launching their own competing service
Get a decent machine and run true as scale.
All of these things can be installed as helm/k8s “apps” and they almost self configure.
They update aswell.
It’s spectacular.
Then throw drives at it.
I have one “pool” of storage that’s a raid 10 for things I care about and then a giant zfs “jbod “ that has no backups for just mass storage of things that I don’t really care about.
I felt so lied to when I left high school, having been told my entire life that people eventually grow up…. And now I’m 40ish and they really don’t.
The awful things haven’t happened to most people yet
Most people don’t have any concept why their privacy matters.
And until something awful happens to them, they aren’t interested in learning it either.
I’d trust the “non officers” more than the officers in most scenarios.
Also an excellent point
While this is conclusively stoned as “cpu” issues, in case anyone else finds this thread…
While your isp can’t read the data over the VPN, they CAN see that you’re using a VPN and intentionally slow down your connection with traffic shaping because you’re putting so much data through the vpn.
In many unzip utilities, they use temp files that you wouldn’t be paying attention to. These temp files will contain your credentials and you won’t know where they are or if they got deleted.
Right? Like “make sure you get a warrant” isn’t a hard answer.
What do the links look like on the start page?
The problem is that Tailscale gives your server a “magic” ip, which isn’t the same one as on your local network. On your local network, do you access them by port? Or reverse proxy?
Machine:8080 or service.machine.localdomain
Truenas scale
I bought an older model from this company and it’s been spectacular.
I only reboot it when the power dies, unbelievably reliable and quality build
Oh fuck I’d forgotten about that.
I knew I hated Sony, but I’d totally forgotten about that.
You’re really behind the curve on this one.
We’re talking about laws that were bad but existed for a long time. I can’t bring myself to care anymore about your straw-man misinterpretations.
Yes.
How long were women not considered “persons” before it was corrected?
I think it still generally applies, and the American legal system and Canadian one have some similarities, though I’m not really qualified to say that. Seems needlessly pedantic, but if you want a Canadian example, how’s the residential schools? Women’s rights? According to Canadian law, women didn’t qualify as persons until 1929.
There are plenty of Canadian examples of poor laws existing for far too long a timeframe.
Yes, it’s not 100% accurate parallel, just the easiest one I could come up with.
Sometimes bad laws exist for a long assed time and hurt a lot of people.
And all of these laws are disingenuous, wrapped in classic “won’t someone please think of the children”
