Doesn’t this already work with proper links? E.g this link works fine for me in a Voyager and my standard mobile browser too: !polls@reddthat.com

Feature, not a bug.
It’s cluttered, especially the comments. Instead of using the existing ‘up arrow/comment count’ (to the right of usernames) as a vote button (like almost every other app has done), they added 3 net-new buttons to the lower right of every single comment for upvote/downvote/reply.
Memmy was on track for a while but imo their user interface is awful in comparison to Apollo. I’d highly recommend checking out Voyager if you liked Apollo’s interface, its almost a 1:1 copy
I’ve been loving Voyager myself but I’d also recommend giving Avelon and Lemmios a shot too.
I mean, you should ask @mark@programming.dev where they got those bullet points, I didn’t see them in OPs post about bird marketing either.
I took their post to be insinuating that those negatives all come with large masses of people joining a platform but ultimately I don’t know if there was enough context in the post to know.
and you can still have that in whatever defederated safe zone you want. i’m sick of this “the fediverse isn’t for the masses” sentiment. YOUR community might not be but, the fediverse is literally made for the masses.
i don’t necessarily agree with OPs ideas, but not because they’re trying to attract new people to the fediverse.
Not sure what I did wrong then but that was my experience
I didn’t hear it, I experienced it. /shrug
With Matrix (at least as far as I understand), if you aren’t logged in when the message is posted you can’t actually decrypt it. I think Matrix would actually be worse than Discord for an announcement like this.
you assume that the majority of users are using a mouse. times have changed my friend.
I’ve seen promos for the stories feature in Pixelfed but I still haven’t seen one in the app yet 🤷♂️
Really wish all governments would do this.
This is true. Memmy is a great app but it’s still not quite a clone of Apollo. Wefwef/Voyager is legitimately Apollo’s UI, almost 1:1. It just doesn’t have haptics 🙁
The XMPP history going around Lemmy lately is kind of exaggerated.
EU blocked the app yes, because it gathers a lot of data from the user of the app.
Not the website/service in general though.
Lemmy is also the more mature product. Kbin is new and very cool, but it’s still very early in its development.
I tried calckey but it doesn’t handle or search hashtags well at all. As far as I can tell, you can create “Antennas” to watch hashtags but they will only monitor and grab new content, so you won’t see any past uses before your antenna creation.
Oh gotcha, I was working around it without even realizing it by going to the community and finding the post at the top 🤦♂️
